Now that the cat's out of the bag about our Adelaide office opening, let's introduce you to some of the team. Say hello to Amy, Explorate Adelaide's newest Business Development Manager.

Amy is a passionate logistics expert who started her journey in the freight and logistics industry when she was 22. She has since developed a deep understanding of the industry and built strong relationships with carriers both nationally and internationally.
I went for a job at the shipping line HMM and while I didn't land that role, they recommended me to one of their customers. Initially, it was intended that I'd be working on the reception desk, but I was moved on to a Customer Service and Export Operations role almost instantly. I quickly gained interest in the growing export market, and became well versed in all things perishable, rural commodities and wine, which naturally led to a role in pricing and sales support.
After a couple of years in sales support, I felt confident to take my learnings and move into Business Development - I really enjoyed getting out on the road, meeting customers face-to-face and building strong relationships. But last year I wanted to try something new in the industry, so I did a small stint in domestic freight for about three months. I quickly realised that it wasn't for me and that international freight was, and still is, my passion. I was headhunted by Explorate for a Business Development Manager role, and given my experience in a similar role and my industry knowledge, it was a perfect fit!
The vibe is so refreshing and exciting, and everyone has so much passion for the company and its vision, which is very different to most standard freight forwarding companies! I really love their story, how it all started and the reason why Explorate was founded. Being part of a startup community in Adelaide and helping the business grow, really makes me feel like I'm part of something great.
I'm a relationship builder. I'm generally the first point of contact for new potential clients looking for information on our services and I also manage and nurture our existing customers. I'm constantly looking for new business opportunities and getting the Explorate name and platform out there.
I've just read the book 'Power Play' by Julia Banks.
You'll find me eating out and trying new restaurants, socialising, chilling at the beach or getting active!
I'm an extroverted introvert.
